I'm happy to finally post these photographs of the work I had the opportunity to create for a little 99 seat playhouse in LA. The play covered three days in the life of Amedeo Modigliani who died in 1920 at the age of 35. His post-impressionistic style was not well accepted at the time and he died in poverty. Of course his work is now priceless. ( well, really, really expensive ) As shown, I painted a large mural promoting the play but what was very enjoyable was painting props for the show. I painted two of the photos below on canvas which was unrolled in one of the acts. The next picture is of stretched canvases that were props on the stage. The bottom photo shows some of the canvases of which I painted multiples. I painted 35 each of 4 different paintings. I mentioned to my clients that it worked out that I was painting masterpieces for about $10 a piece. My warmest thanks to Matt and Meridth, my friends with whom I have lost touch. God bless, I hope all is well.
